Los Angeles Goes Underground has served as an online showcase for select artists from the Greater Los Angeles Area since 1996.

Artist selection is a subjective process (see next paragraph), based on quality of music and/or performance. OK, so you may not like all the bands posted here, but we do! We strive to include energetic and original types of alternative rock music. On top of that, the selected artists tend to be indie, unrecorded, very fresh on the scene, or may be somewhat known but not heavily commercialized.

LAGU's mission is not to be a clearinghouse or extensive list of bands, as demonstrated by the limited number of listings. LAGU doesn't aim to approximate or mimic sites with 100's or 1000's of bands . This is essentially a one-page site for band listings without all the navigational clutter that other sites display. And thank god we don't, it's tough to find the time to go out to actually hear the music while keeping a regular day job! There is no charge $$ to be listed. No money accepted, only music.

To submit or refer a link for placement on LAGU, please use the form below. After listening to your music online and/or seeing your live performance we will decide if the band is suitable for LAGU. Regarding geography: Los Angeles and Orange counties only. Due to the high number of submittals we will contact you only if your music falls into the LAGU philosophy. Reviews are usually completed within a few months.
